The server is fully configurable. You can turn it on or off any time you want. It is written in assembly language (source code included, too), so it is one lean and mean Bubba! Of course, you can use it to filter out any web server, not just the ad servers. If you are a public library required by law to filter out sleezy and hateful sites, Web Bubba can handle those. And you do not even have to pay a monthly fee for some outsider to do it for you and slow down your Internet access in the process. With Web Bubba your access is sped up considerably: No time is wasted downloading ads or any other filtered-out contents. No time is wasted by the browser trying to access a non-existent web server if you just edit your hosts file but have no server in place. Web Bubba is freedom. Freedom from unwanted advertising.
