ConnTroll is the easy way to block access to the Internet for some users of a computer - useful for parents who
don’t want their children to spend all their time in front of the computer.
Limiting access to the Internet can be done in several ways. ConnTroll makes it possible to allow some users to connect during certain hours of the day, while others are blocked out. It is also possible to limit access by setting a maximum limit on the time spent online every day, week or month on a per-user basis. Allowing one user to access the Internet weekdays between 6pm-8pm, but only for five hours per week, is fully possible. Download quotas can also be enabled.
The program keeps detailed statistics on the Internet usage and makes it easy to find out how much time individual users spend online. A related feature is the “top list” which lists the top five users regarding time spent online and the amount of down- and uploaded data.
There are two different ways of identifying users: using the built-in logon system or existing Windows accounts. The program works with both Windows 2000 and Windows XP and can be evaluated for free for up to 30 days.
